8ABC Nevada

About the School

ABC is a nonprofit construction industry trade association with more than 26,000 members nationwide.

ABC Nevada Associated Builders and Contractors helps its members train for new careers, find work, and keep up with the latest advancements in the field.

ABC starts new apprenticeships each year.

The programs can be completed in three or four years.

Apprentices have to complete around 2,000 hours of on-the-job training and spend at least 144 hours in the classroom each year.

Students are required to maintain a 75 percent GPA.

Costs for new apprentices sum up to $200 per year for books and $250-$500 for tools, depending on the trade.

ABC Nevada apprentices in the Southern Division are covered by the ABC Nevada medical plan- which includes medical, vision, and dental coverage.

Apprentices in the Northern Division are covered by their contractor’s insurance plan.

UA 525 is a union of plumbers, pipefitters, and service technicians.

A variety of apprentices and training programs are available for those who want to start rewarding careers in these fields or to keep up with the latest advancements in their profession.

UA 525 is also a testing facility for the United Association Welding Certification program.
