3Central Wyoming College

Central Wyoming College is a community college that serves Fremont, Hot Springs, and Teton Counties.

Northwest College in Wyoming provides a wide range of academic programs.

6Casper College
About the School
One of the largest community colleges in the region, Casper College prepares students for the workforce or transfer to four-year programs.
More than 140 academic and transfer and technical and career programs are available at the college.
The Casper campus consists of 28 buildings on more than 200 acres.
The student-to-faculty ratio is 13:1.
Casper College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.

7Electrical Training Center
About the School
Electrical training classes are also available in the neighboring state of South Dakota.
The Electrical Training Center offers apprentice, journeyman, and master classes, as well as classes on code updates, and Master Exam prep.

A five-day Exam Prep Course is also available for Journeymen and Contractors and includes a two-day National Electrical Code Review pre-session class designed to help students review some of the common installation requirements and Electrical Code changes.
The next three days are spent in an Exam Prep Calculations Workshop.

8Independent Electrical Contractors
About the School
The largest electrical training program in the country, Independent Electrical Contractors prepares more than 2,500 electrical apprentices and licensed electricians per year.
Courses Offered
A four-year apprenticeship accredited by the U.S. Department of Labor Office of Apprenticeship is available at IECRM.
During training, apprentices earn wages from their employers.
They work full-time in the field.
No experience is required for enrollment into the apprenticeship.
Entry-level wages start at $15 per hour.
Apprentices receive a raise every six months or after every 1,000 hours of on-the-job training completed.
They also earn credits toward a Bachelors’s or Associates’s degree.
Candidates should meet the following requirements:
- Hold a high school diploma or GED
- Have reliable transportation
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be physically capable to perform the work of this trade
- Pass a math entrance exam
- A three-night math module is available for those who didn’t pass the assessment

9Wyoming Electrical JATC
About the School
A cooperative training effort between the National Electrical Contractors Association and the Local Unions #322 and #415 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Wyoming Electrical JATC covers the entire state of Wyoming.
The association has been registered with the Department of Labor- Office of Apprenticeship since 1965.
The available apprenticeship program includes a minimum of 8,000 hours of on-the-job training and four years of extensive classroom training that prepares students for the Journeyman exam.
To qualify for admission into the apprenticeship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be 18 years old at the time of application
- Show proof of one Algebra credit or completion of the NJATC Tech Math Course
- Be high school graduates or have a GED
- Possess a valid driver’s license
Apprentices receive competitive wages, pension plans, and a comprehensive family medical plan.
The salary starts at 55 percent of the Journeyman rate in the Cheyenne area and the Casper area.
After completing 1,000 hours of training, the apprentice wage becomes 60% of the Journeyman rate.

10WyoTech
About the School
WyoTech is a destination school for technicians who want to pursue full-time training in the Automotive, Diesel, and Collision & Refinishing fields.
Students can pair their core training program with six specialty programs in Street Rod, High-Performance Power Trains, Applied Service Management, Chassis Fabrication, Advanced Diesel, and Trim & Upholstery.
Students spend approximately 60 percent of their time in the shop where they gain hands-on experience.
WyoTech is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges.
Tuition is $29,000 for the nine-month program.
Effective July 1st, 2023, tuition will become $31,750.
