2New Mexico Electrical JATC
About the School
New Mexico Electrical JATC provides training programs for students who want to start a career in the Electrical Industry.
The programs combine on-the-job training and classroom instruction and allow apprentices to receive competitive wages as well as pension and medical plans.
Those who complete the program can also receive college credit.
Graduates become Inside Journeyman Wireman.
The Inside Wiremen are responsible for bringing power from sources of generation to the customer’s homes and businesses.
They distribute and connect the customer’s electrical equipment to power sources.
Wiremen install conduit systems from the motor control centers or panelboards to the customer’s electrical equipment.
Because most of the conduit systems are exposed, they have to be installed following strict standards.
The apprenticeship is five years long.
