Courses Offered
The Electrical Technology program provided by North American Trade Schools teaches students entry-level skills in residential and commercial wiring.

2Lincoln Tech
About the School
Lincoln Tech offers an Electrician program at its College of Technology in Columbia, Maryland.
The program focuses on hands-on instruction to prepare students for real work situations.
Lincoln College of Technology is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges.

This training option covers both high and low-voltage electrical systems.
Tuition for the Lower Division Certificate program is $24,216.
Additional fees include books, uniforms, and fees and bring the total cost to $27,408.
Loans and grants are available for qualifying students.
The certificate program includes 1,080 hours.
The 1,395-hour Associate in Applied Science Degree program costs $33,189 in total.

3Baltimore Electrical JATC
About the School
Baltimore Electrical JATC offers training programs for union electricians and technicians.
The training programs are sponsored by IBEW Local 24 and the Maryland Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association through the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee.
The educational program offered by the Baltimore Electrical JATC is approved by the Bureau of Apprenticeship, the U.S. Department of Labor, and the Maryland Apprenticeship and Training Council.
Students can graduate with no student debt.
They only have to purchase the books.
First-year apprentices receive a salary that starts at $17.10 per hour plus benefits.
The salary increases gradually as apprentices advance in their training.

About the School
IBEW Local Union 26 provides high-quality technical training programs for workers in the electrical industry.
The union offers apprenticeships that combine on-the-job training and classroom instruction.
During the training period, apprentices work under the supervision of an experienced worker.

IBEW Local 24 represents more than 2,000 electrical workers from the Baltimore area and the Eastern Shore of Maryland.
The association offers training programs for members and apprentices through the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee.

9Harford County Electrical Contractors Association
About the School
Students can also prepare for a career in the electricity field through the apprenticeship offered by Harford County Electrical Contractors Association.
The apprenticeship is provided through a partnership between the Harford County Electrical Contractors Association and Harford Community College.
Students gain hands-on experience and earn money while learning the skills needed for a new profession at the workplace.
Courses Offered
The four-year apprenticeship program helps students earn a Journeyman Certificate from the Maryland Department of Labor.
Beginning July 1st, 2022 this certificate allows students to apply for a license as a journeyperson electrician through the Maryland Department of Labor without having to take an exam.
The program includes 2,000 hours of on-the-job training per year and 144 hours of classroom instruction each year.
Applicants have to be at least 18 years of age.
Those who are under 18 can apply if they have a work permit.
A high school diploma or GED is also required for admission.
Students also need a valid driver’s license and transportation.
Applicants have to complete a math comprehension assessment and interview.
Continuing Education classes are available.
